DUCATI MULTISTRADA V4 RS
The new V4 RS is the sportiest, most sophisticated, and most distinctive Multistrada ever built by the Borgo Panigale manufacturer. Produced in a numbered series, the Multistrada V4 RS is equipped with the Desmosedici Stradale engine derived from the Panigale V4 and combines it with a chassis that offers the perfect blend of comfort and sportiness for rider and passenger.
The RS range was created to overcome the compromise between the thrill of sports riding and true grand touring comfort. Thanks to the Desmosedici Stradale engine with desmodromic timing, dry clutch and Akrapovič muffler, together with Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension and forged wheels, the V4 RS offers unique performance and riding sensations while maintaining the balance that has always distinguished the Multistrada family.
The unmistakable sound and spirited, thrilling power delivery of the MotoGP-derived V4 make for an unforgettable riding experience. These sensations are enhanced by a chassis updated for the 2025 model year and by components such as the single-sided aluminium swingarm and newly designed forged wheels.
The most demanding motorcyclists will appreciate the technical and stylistic details that make this a unique motorcycle in both personality and substance. The RS logo, designed by the Centro Stile, appears on the livery, the key and in the dashboard graphics. A slim, streamlined tail fairing, designed exclusively for this bike, contributes to its sportier look.
Every component—from the electronics package featuring radar technology and event-based Öhlins suspension to the ultra-lightweight titanium rear subframe, now sized to accommodate a top case—was chosen with a single goal: to create the sportiest touring bike ever. The most exciting Multistrada ever created by Ducati.
Sporty Style
The Multistrada V4 RS combines the unmistakable, elegant and dynamic Multistrada line with racing-inspired technologies typical of Borgo Panigale superbikes. Carbon fibre components—including the front mudguard, model-specific handguards, heat shields and the front “beak”—create a play of contrasts with the new RS livery.
A slim, lightweight techno-polymer tail fairing integrates the passenger grab handles and defines a sporty, sophisticated side view. The titanium seat subframe is a highly refined technical component that accentuates its sporty character and saves 2.5 kg compared to the standard subframe; it can now accommodate three panniers, allowing the motorcycle to transform from a sports bike to a GT in an instant.
Each unit is part of a numbered series, with the number displayed on a black anodized aluminium plaque embellished with the Italian flag on the triple clamp.
Superbike Engine
The Multistrada V4 RS is the only model in the family to feature the 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale engine. Ducati has modified the V4 to combine typical Multistrada smoothness with the personality and sportiness of the Panigale and Streetfighter: a smooth power delivery at low revs and, thanks to desmodromic timing, thrilling performance near the redline. The exhaust note is deep at low rpm and exhilarating under high-rev acceleration.
These objectives are achieved by adopting a more permeable and sportier Sprintfilter P08 air filter and an exhaust system with an Akrapovič muffler developed specifically for the Multistrada V4 RS. In Euro 5+ homologated configuration, the engine develops 180 hp with a 13,500 rpm rev limit—chosen to ensure sporty performance while maintaining the Multistrada’s hallmark balance.
To best exploit the stronger power delivery, the final gear ratio is shorter than on the Pikes Peak (gearbox ratios are unchanged), assisted by the new DQS 2.0 quickshifter. This system relies on the shift drum’s angular position sensor, removing the need for a microswitch in the shift rod and offering a more direct feel with reduced travel.
As on the most prestigious Panigale V4 and Streetfighter V4 versions, the V4 RS features an STM-EVO SBK dry clutch crafted from billet aluminium with specific spring and slipper configuration. It smooths the ride during braking and gear engagement and contributes a distinctive metallic timbre when disengaged. Performance is powered by Shell Advance oil, reflecting collaboration between Ducati Corse and Shell in Superbike and MotoGP.
For thermal comfort, the rear cylinder bank deactivates when stationary in neutral with engine temperatures above 70°C. Upwash ducts that channel cool air to the rider’s legs can be closed on colder days. Valve clearance checks are scheduled every 30,000 km.
Electronics
The Multistrada V4 RS features the advanced electronics package of the latest Multistrada V4 S, updated with Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO), a new Suspension Mode management system independent of Riding Modes, and a Front-to-Rear braking strategy. Radar technology front and rear is standard, enabling Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), and Forward Collision Warning (FCW).
Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO)
DVO estimates ground forces acting on the motorcycle and the loads it can withstand in various riding conditions, simulating the input of 70 sensors in addition to the data from the inertial platform. Developed by Ducati Corse in MotoGP, it refines ABS Cornering and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) strategies for even greater safety and efficiency.
Power Modes & Riding Modes
The electronics suite includes four Power Modes (Full, High, Medium, Low), Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and DWC with DVO logic, Engine Brake Control (EBC), and the new Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0. All systems are calibrated for the model’s character and integrated into five Riding Modes: Race, Sport, Touring, Urban and Wet.
Full Power Mode
Exclusive to the V4 RS and associated by default with Race (indicated by a chequered flag), Full delivers maximum power in all gears with prompt throttle response.
Other Power Modes
- High (default in Sport): maximum power in 4th–6th with slight torque reduction in 1st–3rd; prompt response.
- Medium (default in Touring): maximum power in 4th–6th with slight reduction in 1st–3rd; smoother response.
- Low (default in Urban): power limited to 84 kW (114 hp) with smooth response.
Additional Electronic Features
EBC is adjustable to three levels to customize engine braking. New dashboard graphics add a control panel similar to the Track Infomode on Panigale V4 and Streetfighter V4, displaying DTC, ABS and DWC settings per Riding Mode. Interventions of DTC and DWC are highlighted by flashing indicators and a lit upper-right dashboard corner.
The 6.5" TFT dashboard, with dedicated graphics, supports map navigation via Ducati Connect (smartphone mirroring). The phone compartment features forced ventilation for cooling during intensive navigation and charging.
Chassis and Ergonomics
Developed around a 17" front wheel for precision and responsiveness in sports riding, the chassis uses an aluminium monocoque frame different from the Multistrada V4 S and Rally. It employs a 25.75° steering head angle (vs. 24.5°) and geometry tuned to enhance the bike’s sportier character, as on the V4 Pikes Peak.
Forged aluminium wheels boost dynamic performance. Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa tyres (120/70 front, 190/55 rear) deliver excellent grip in acceleration and a strong sense of contact mid-corner.
Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 Suspension
The event-based Smart EC 2.0 system—self-adjusting to riding style as on Panigale V4 S and Streetfighter V4 S—has been recalibrated to balance casual-ride comfort with sporty support. Strategies are optimized to offer more support in sporty riding and greater comfort for touring.
Using a dedicated button, the rider can now select Suspension Modes independently of Riding Modes: Track, Dynamic, Touring or Low Grip. This lets the rider increase support/precision or comfort/stability based on route and conditions without altering engine response or electronic control behaviour.
Braking System
The Electronic Combined Braking System introduces a new front-to-rear strategy, managing the rear brake even when only using the front control to improve effectiveness in sporty and fully-loaded touring use. The system is derived from the Panigale V4: front 330 mm discs with Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers and Panigale V4 pads; rear 280 mm disc with a Brembo floating caliper. Control uses regressive kinematics with a smaller piston for improved power and modulation. Management is via Bosch-Brembo 10.3ME ABS Cornering.
Weight Reduction & Ergonomics
In addition to carbon fibre and titanium components, a smaller battery reduces weight, saving 2 kg versus the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak. Ergonomics are sportier than on the Multistrada V4: higher, more rear-set footpegs; a handlebar rigidly mounted to the top plate that is lower, narrower and with less curvature; and new, softer grips with a sportier design. The result is improved feeling for sport riding while maintaining a high level of comfort befitting a Multistrada.
Accessories
The Ducati Performance catalogue offers accessories to enhance versatility and style. Luggage options include plastic or aluminium side cases, a top case, tank and passenger seat bags, and taller windshields. To emphasize its sporty personality, billet aluminium parts (levers, footpegs, reservoirs, caps) and many carbon fibre components are available.
